When is the best time to have a Prima Bella casting session?
We recommend that you capture your form when your belly is the most full, usually between 35 to 38 weeks. Please do not wait too long. If your baby comes a little early you may miss your opportunity. Some women want to create a series of castings throughout their pregnancy, one at 5 months, 7 months, and 9 months.
[ Close ]When should I schedule an appointment?
As soon as possible! Due to the labor intensive nature of our work, we limit our appointments to 4 sessions each month. We strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment with Francine as soon as possible, as she books quickly and sometimes months in advance!
[ Close ]What materials are used to create the cast? Are the materials that you use safe?
Our plaster gauze strips are dipped in warm water to create the foundational cast. We use an all-natural barrier between your skin and the casting materials (100% pure vegetable shortening). All materials are absolutely safe for use on pregnant women. I have done extensive research into the manufacturing of the casting materials I use. At least once each year I speak again with the manufacturer to be sure that the materials are still completely safe.
[ Close ]Is the process safe?
Yes. I have cast over 500 women since I began my work 19 years ago without any problems, and I take great care in providing you the safest and most relaxing experience possible. Our goal is for you to enjoy your session in comfort and safety!
[ Close ]Is the process comfortable?
Yes, and fun too. It is very soothing, much like receiving a gentle massage. I take great care in providing you with the most comfort and support for the pose you choose.
[ Close ]How long does it take?
The casting process will take between ½ hour and 1-3/4 hours depending on the detail of the pose. A pose including your hands or your face will take longer than one without because of the amount of detail involved in capturing the fine qualities of the individual. The finishing process over the next 1 - 3 months involves between 25 - 40 hours of studio work to create your refined Prima Bella.
[ Close ]When will I get my finished Prima Bella sculpture?
Depending on the chosen pose and the level of detail involved, you will receive your sculpture within 1 - 3 months after your casting session.
[ Close ]How will I get my sculpture from you once it is completed?
Either you can return to my studio to pick up your sculpture or we can make delivery arrangements. I can come to your home or send it via Fed Ex.
