Laine's Story
Having Francine create a bellycast was a beautiful and tender experience. I had been having a difficult time connecting to the baby inside of me, but Francine made me feel so special and really helped me embrace the magical experience I was having. She welcomed us into her warm, lovely studio and honored both my body and spirit with her gentleness and reverence for pregnancy.
I felt like a queen as she made the cast, and was astounded as we removed it and I could see for the first time what everyone else could see who looked at me. It was so beautiful! As I saw my pregnant form I had a new respect for all that was happening inside of me.
The finished sculpture is so precious; it really is a fine work of art. Having the belly cast, I will always be able to look back at that special time in my life and remember not only my experience with Francine, but also the blessing it was to carry my child inside of me.
