Antonia's Story
From the start, we had a lovely experience. Francine made it easy for my friends to arrange the casting session, and was totally accommodating to our group. She made every stage of my visit safe and comfortable, giving me guidance and fulfilling all my wishes, both for physical and mental comfort. Her studio is a welcoming place; it was like coming to see a good friend who at the same time is totally professional. I felt completely taken care of, relaxed and enlivened, which is quite refreshing at 8 months pregnant!
Seeing the gallery of sculptures was the best way to decide what kind of casting I wanted. I saw close up how lovely these sculptures are and could not have appreciated the beauty of the smooth finish without seeing it, seeing the detail she sculpts on the hands and features. When she finished my casting, I was astounded at the amount of detail; she even sculpted the muscles in my forearms! I felt a bond with the sculpture, and knew that it WAS me, and my baby, preserved forever. Now I have more than just stretch marks to preserve the magical act of growing a baby.
I look at my sculpture every day, hanging from the wall in the corner of my bedroom. My belly sculpture was an inspiration through my second pregnancy, and I believe it helped my daughter to understand that she came from me, just like the new baby was going to. Francine is a true artist and any woman would be lucky to have the experience of having a cast made in her studio, or to simply make her acquaintance.
